Community

Our community involvement is important to us. We are active in our local community through our Community Champions as well as through our music, drama and involvement with local primary schools in and around Carterton. We welcome use of our site by the local community.

Use our excellent facilities

We have many excellent facilities for community and commercial use. As a community college we encourage use of our spaces and facilities outside of the school day. We use the proceeds to improve the facilities for students and community alike.

We have ample car parking available on site and can provide limited catering for larger bookings if required.

We play host to both local and county wide organisations. If you would like to know more and inquire about availability please get in touch.

Dining Room

Our dining room comes with tables or standard seating. It can seat 200 and is available with projection facilities. This makes an ideal presentation space with the added breakout spaces for group work.

Drama Studio

Our large drama studio is equipped with retractable raked seating, balcony and projection facilities. It is ideal for media training and group work as well as choir rehearsals and presentation evenings. Lighting and sound are available upon request. The area has no external windows so is ideal performance space during the summer holidays.

Tea and Coffee are available upon request and this area can be used as a separate venue with access to a dedicated reception desk directly from the car park.

Library

Why not hold your meeting in our award wining library? This would make an ideal seminar space and in the summer has access to the outdoor courtyard with raised fishpond and outdoor cafe seating.

ICT Suite

30 PCs in a modern air-conditioned classroom make an ideal space for an organisation looking to teach ICT or make use of the internet. All our PCs have access to high speed fibre internet with filtering active to ensure a safe experience.

Classroom

We also have a range of “standard” classrooms. These can be booked by themselves or together to provide a group of rooms.

Community Champions
The Community Champions at Carterton Community College are a group of energetic young leaders who are working hard to make a difference to their community. They raised a staggering total of £4000 for a variety of causes. These included the Repatriation Bell, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Fund and ShelterBox. They also supported a large number of events, including the recent opening of the Faulder Avenue play park, where they met our local MP and Prime Minister, David Cameron.
ShelterBox is an emergency disaster support project supported by Rotary which puts together boxes of vital survival equipment to be sent to locations anywhere in the world should something like an earthquake or tsunami devastate communities. Just one ShelterBox can mean the difference between life and death for 12 people until lives and communities are rebuilt. Our Community Champions raised £716 which will pay for one Box and part of another. What’s more, each one has a number, so when it is used, we will know where it has gone and how it has been used.
The Community Champions are supported by the Rotary Club of Witney and are a fully constituted Interact Club. The Champions are also actively supported by Carterton’s Town Council, with Mayor Mrs Lynn Little giving encouragement, advice and lots of ideas!
