A message from the Head
Welcome to Carterton Community College and Sixth Form.
Our school is 50 years old this year. The founding aims were ‘to offer a broad education to the children of Carterton with an emphasis on the needs of the individual child and to serve the whole community’.
These aims are as relevant now as they were when the school opened. We have extended our values in consultation with our staff and students, and these reflect our determination to offer our youngsters the best possible education in a safe and healthy environment.
We believe in the potential of every child. We accept our responsibility to ensure that they achieve academically, and are nurtured and cared for throughout their time at school. Alongside excellent examination results, we aim to create responsible citizens with a lifelong love of learning who can make a positive contribution to our community and be successful and fulfilled.
Students leaving our Sixth Form commence degrees at prestigious universities including Oxbridge, and Russell Group Universities, and higher-level apprenticeships in all employment sectors. All our Year 11 students continue in education or enter employment or training.
Our belief in them transforms into belief in themselves.
Our school is a great place to work and study, to grow and develop personally, and to be enriched by opportunities in school and with our partners in local businesses and the community. As we grow and develop we can look forward to the next 50 years with well-founded confidence and self-belief.
