Estimate of the areas served by free school transport

School Transport is provided by the Local Authority to your closest school if you are over safe statutory walking distance. For many in the local area this will mean that Carterton Community College is closest and hopefully your destination of choice. The County Council policy came into effect from 2015 and the current bus routes now reflect this.

If you live closest to us you will not be eligible for free transport to another school.

To apply for transport and gain a free buss pass for travel to and from Carterton Community College please complete the form below;

We are justifiably proud of our College and our students. This is a College where individuals matter, a College where the opinions of the community are valued.
We have high expectations, high standards and high aspirations for our students. We want our students to be happy, to enjoy their learning, be valued members of the community and achieve all they are capable of.

Parent Handbook

This is our handbook for new students and their parents and guardians.

School Uniform

Our uniform should be worn with pride and in a way that promotes our school in a positive way. If students are neatly dressed, it gives people a good impression of our school and of the individual students.
Uniform at Carterton Community College is compulsory and you are responsible for making sure that you come to school in full school uniform every day.

Educational Resources

This section is where we will put useful resources to help with study at home.

BBC Bitesize – revision guides

We use a system called Show My Homework to set homework for our students. By using this system students can always access the homework tasks and parents can be more involved.

Choosing GCSE options

We invest a significant amount of time to ensure that our students have a wide range of options and an opportunity to study a breadth of subjects. Options booklets are sent home in February each year to Y9 students and we hold parents evenings to help parents with the choices.

We are also able to offer some of our students this year the opportunity to pursue some qualifications which may be more appropriate to their needs.  We will be identifying these students over the options process and contacting parents to discuss the possible options.  Should you feel this option may suit your son/daughter, then please do not hesitate to contact our SEND Co-ordinator.

Continuing education post 16

We believe there are many reason why you would want to come study at Carterton Community College Sixth Form, including the high quality teaching, the Sixth Form block, pastoral support, and the enrichment opportunities, but don’t take our word for it, here are the views of current Sixth Form Students.

“I’m enjoying all my subjects and I know Teachers are always there to help in or out of lessons. They are always willing to sit down with you and ensure you’re comfortable with what you are doing whilst pushing us.” Beckie, Sixth Form Student

“I’m finding the Sport course is very Intensive but enjoyable. The 3G pitch which we use on a regular basis is fantastic and means we can really perfect our skills year round.” Susan, Sixth Form Student
